I noticed during Blogtober that I haven't really given an update on my personal health journey since August. That's because September and October were both rather hectic. TWO CRAZY MONTHSSeptember and October were both very busy and crazy. In September, my grandfather landed in the hospital for more than a month where he battled pneumonia. Now, he is in another hospital in a rehab of sorts. He is still not home, which makes it difficult for my mom and grandma to see him. At the same time, my mom was in a boot and then in a cast after foot surgery in early September. I took a bit of time off from work to go help her at her house, which is more that two and a half hours away from mine. Right after her surgery, I received word that my job was closing down to allow everyone to evacuate before Hurricane Florence hit the area. I was at home for two more weeks. Luckily, I had my computer and was able to keep blogging! And in October, I participated in Blogtober, where you blog something new each day. This took up a lot of time, as I would do posts like recipes where I actually made everything so I could get pictures! MY HEALTH STATUS
HEALTHIER HABITS I'VE KEPT UP WITHWhile I haven't been eating a low-carb diet recently, I have been drinking more water and fewer "regular" sodas, meaning that I've switched to diet. I've heard people say that diet drinks aren't all that good for you, but I think they are better than other sodas, which will add more than 200 calories to your diet each day. I do think that this has made a bit of a difference. I think that, if I went back to drinking soda like I used to drink it, I'd rapidly regain the weight. MOVING FORWARDI plan to move forward in the cooler months with my fitness plans. I want to lose this weight for a number of reasons, but mostly for my health. I don't want to have a number of complications a few years from now because of my weight. Last week, I had met my 30-pound weight loss goal, but I lost it when Halloween came and I started to get candy and other things for myself or from others. I plan to revamp my weight loss goal plan and to make a better effort to take care of myself. Aside from my physical health, I've also taken some precautions to better my mental health. I've been thinking through my feelings a lot more, and we've also been attending a church that makes my heart so happy! I'm excited about the things to come and I look forward to continuing to better my health!
