Anyone who knows me personally knows that I’m obsessed with chicken. And, if you are too, you have to check out Fabe’s Charcoal Roasting Co. in Fayetteville, N.C. I always want to look up the business to see if it is a chain, and I couldn’t really find any evidence that it is, but there are a few restaurants like it. One that comes to mind is Viva Chicken, which specializes in Peruvian chicken and side dishes. Fabe’s hallmark item is certainly their slow-roasted chicken. It is marinated on and under the skin, so each and every bite is packed with flavor. I’m a fan of white-meat chicken, but you can also order dark-meat.
My husband usually gets the rice tipped with black beans and the sweet plantains. I’m not a huge fan of sweet plantains myself, but I tried a bite of his, and they were pretty good! Lastly are the drinks, which I unfortunately didn’t get to try. However, they look delicious! There is the Jamaica and Horchata alongside specialty drinks. They look amazing, and I’ll definitely be trying them next time. And no, in all my years of life and in my love of Latin culture, I still haven’t tried horchata! I’m hoping to soon.
