In case you're new here, I am a junkie for all things musical. I married into the right family, because Jonathan's mom is a long-time music teacher and also a lover of music and performance. I was so excited when she told us that the Yadkin Cultural Arts Center would be putting on a production of Spongebob the Musical, and that she had gotten us tickets. I always joke that I have "mom energy" even though we don't have kids yet. I totally wanted to dress up and feel like a part of what was going on around me! I decided to put the mermaid dress I purchased a few years ago for Halloween back to use! I paired it with pearls, of course!
I got the baked ziti, Jonathan got meatloaf, and Tonya got a chicken and broccoli casserole. We finished our amazing meal with a slice of cheesecake topped with chocolate ganache. The cheesecake featured a signature crust made of cheerios, which was surprising and a fresh take on the classic dessert. As it neared show time, we headed into the center, which has its own small art gallery featuring local artists of all ages. I was getting super excited, because I love live performance, and I've only been able to see one other live performance (Legally Blonde the Musical) with my mom since we moved.
While you can't see Spongebob the Musical, they will be doing several other notable shows, like The Wizard of Oz and You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. I have no doubt several of the actors from this show will be cast in roles in these other shows.
I strongly recommend that you check this local theatre out. You can find information at yadkinarts.org. The center is located at 226 E. Main Street, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
