Welcome to the 14 Days of Love series! Each day, I will be sharing the answers that were given to me by 14 content creators that I connected with on social media. Today is Day 10, and our feature is Lornett B. Vestal from the Evolving Man Project blog. He is a social critic, educator, activist, writer, adventurer, artist, veteran, and Social Worker from Georgia. Here's a bit more about him: I asked each of my featured creators to answer a few questions for me. Check out Lornett's answers below and head on over to his blog, the Evolving Man Project, at www.LornettVestal.wordpress.com to show him some LOVE! Q: WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT YOUR BLOG?I love the fact that I'm able to discuss and explore topics near and dear to my heart and share them with the world. Q. WHAT DO YOU HOPE PEOPLE WILL KNOW YOU AND YOUR BLOG FOR?I want my blog and posts to break down barriers and shatter stereotypes. Men don't talk about mental health issues, but that's changing. You add the fact that I'm a veteran and a black person. It makes a space and adding a voice for people like me or at the total opposite. Q. WHAT TOPICS DO YOU MOST LOVE TO COVER ON YOUR BLOG?The topics I love to cover the most are society, manhood, and politics. Q. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE POST AND WHY?
Q. WHO ARE YOUR INSPIRATIONS AND WHY DO YOU LOVE THEM?I think my biggest inspiration for the Evolving Man Project has been my wife. She challenged me to start this blog and is my chief editor, too. I'd say my second inspiration is Malcolm X. He was a controversial and misunderstood historical figure. Whether you agree with the man or not, his passion for justice uplifted an entire generation. It also made Dr. King a better leader because he had a person to challenge his vision. Ironically, despite their differences, towards the end of their respective lives they saw their philosophies aligning. Q. DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR OTHER BLOGGERS?Finally, my advice to others who have creative channels is not to be afraid. You'll have people who might criticize and dislike your content but what you create should be just for you. If you have a zeal and passion for your creative pursuits, then you'll gain a following. Also, just do it! FINAL WRAP-UPLornett B. Vestal | www.lornettvestal.wordpress.com
