I don't know about you guys, but I'm starting to get hot, and not in the preferred way! This week was the first week where many days had a high of more than 90 degrees. As someone who absolutely hates heat, I wanted to share some health tips that can make you feel more comfortable is seemingly unbearable weather conditions this summer. Keep reading for my four tips! 1: PEPPERMINT OIL CAN HELP YOU COOL DOWN
She told me to dab a bit behind both of my ears and on my wrists. As someone who easily overheats, I was shocked that this worked so well. If you also find yourself getting overheated, try some peppermint oil! 2: WEAR SUNSCREEN IF YOU'RE GOING OUT IN THE SUN
No matter if you "think you'll burn or not," take some extra measures to protect your skin! Not only can this save you from potential medical issues later, you won't have to deal with sunburns! 3: REDUCE CHANCES OF SKIN BURNS IN THE CAR
4: CHILL YOUR SKINCARE
5: MAKE YOUR WATER MORE INTERESTING
juice and strawberry flavoring, to an ice cube mold. After the ice is made, you just add it to water to not only keep it cool, but also add natural flavors to the water. This makes drinking water much more appealing, which will keep you hydrated all summer long! 6: CHANGE UP YOUR LIFESTYLE OVER THE SUMMER

This is the first Wellness Wednesday post of 2019! I'm glad you decided to check today's post out. If you missed last Friday's post, you probably didn't see that we adopted a dog! I wanted to talk today about the emotional health benefits of having a pet, be it a dog or a cat. 1. THEY CAN READ YOUR EMOTIONS
2. THEY ARE LOYAL
As I retreated inside with the dog, Jonathan stayed outside with her, and she eventually came to him. She never ran away, but just sat there outside waiting for comfort. She is so loyal and loving, and I'm so happy she didn't run off. I am also amazed that dogs remain so loyal. Even when they are in abusive homes, they are still so loyal to their owners and would do anything to protect them. We don't deserve pets, they are so good to us! To tie this into the ultimate topic of this post, their loyalty helps us feel as though we are never alone and will always have a friend. 3. THEY BOUNCE BACK
4. THEY IMPROVE US PHYSICALLY

I started my weightless journey only about a month ago, but I've already experienced great results. For wellness Wednesday this week, I wanted to share this little life update/victory with my blog readers! MY WEIGHTLOSS REWARD | 15 LBSThis time around, I decided that giving myself non-food rewards when I reached my goal would probably make me work harder and try harder when it comes to maintaining a healthy diet and drinking water rather than other, more sugary drinks. For meeting my 15 lb weight loss goal, I decided to purchase myself a new workout outfit to inspire me to hit the gym, or at least to head out for a walk each day. So, as you'll see in the short video I've linked above, I purchased some leggings, which I absolutely love, and a v-neck shirt. I say in the video that the shirt is black, but it's actually dark blue. I clicked on the wrong shirt, so that kind of bummed me out when I picked it up from the store.
I wore the leggings this past weekend. They fit great and so does the shirt. They have an element of comfy compression, which keeps everything in it's place. That's perfect because I want to use them for working out. I wish I would have gotten a sports bra because I really only have one and it isn't worn for workouts, but I wear it around the house a lot. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the video and I hope you'll subscribe to follow me on my fitness journey. You can follow me on Instagram and Twitter @gemusiclover. Let me know if you're interested in following me on Snapchat and I will open it up for you to add me! Thanks for checking in with me on this Wellness Wednesday. Hoping you stay fit until next time! |
