After seeing a ton of positive reviews and hearing from one movie critic that Adam Sandler's performance in "Uncut Gems" was Oscar-worthy, I knew I had to jump at the chance to see it. Luckily, my mom and brother also wanted to see it over the holidays. First, let's start with the movie's plot, and then I'll give my honest opinion on different aspects of the movie: THE PLOT
ACTING | 4/5I do think he played the character fairly well, but I think that someone else may have been able to do it just a bit better. But, as it goes for the actor himself, this is one of the best roles I've seen him play. THE STORYLINE | 5/5For example, I remember at one point in the movie that there was a ton of stuff going on at once. A lot of people talking and a lot of people doing things. It honestly got to the point where my mom and I covered our ears because all of the sensory overload was starting to cause a headache. While it was super annoying in the moment, I left baffled that the film was able to leave me feeling that way. Another thing on the story is that the ending is not what you expect it to be really. It has a real crazy twist that kind of left me shocked. The ending of the movie was kind of worth the wait. THE MEANING | 5/5
FINAL RATING | 5/5Overall, I think the movie earned its five gems! This is full of language and inappropriate themes, so I think it was rated R. I don't think it is a great movie for kids. It is important to continue to stay engaged in the storyline to follow everything. I hope you'll take time to see this movie in theatres before it goes to DVD and digital download.
