In case you're new here, I am a junkie for all things musical. I married into the right family, because Jonathan's mom is a long-time music teacher and also a lover of music and performance. I was so excited when she told us that the Yadkin Cultural Arts Center would be putting on a production of Spongebob the Musical, and that she had gotten us tickets.
I always joke that I have "mom energy" even though we don't have kids yet. I totally wanted to dress up and feel like a part of what was going on around me! I decided to put the mermaid dress I purchased a few years ago for Halloween back to use! I paired it with pearls, of course!
I got the baked ziti, Jonathan got meatloaf, and Tonya got a chicken and broccoli casserole. We finished our amazing meal with a slice of cheesecake topped with chocolate ganache. The cheesecake featured a signature crust made of cheerios, which was surprising and a fresh take on the classic dessert.
As it neared show time, we headed into the center, which has its own small art gallery featuring local artists of all ages. I was getting super excited, because I love live performance, and I've only been able to see one other live performance (Legally Blonde the Musical) with my mom since we moved.
While you can't see Spongebob the Musical, they will be doing several other notable shows, like The Wizard of Oz and You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. I have no doubt several of the actors from this show will be cast in roles in these other shows.
I strongly recommend that you check this local theatre out. You can find information at yadkinarts.org. The center is located at 226 E. Main Street, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
In this age of technology, connecting with others is easy to do, especially on platforms like YouTube. Watching vloggers and how they celebrate the holidays can bring a lot of joy and Christmas spirit into the mix of your holiday season. Here are a few of my favorite bloggers for Christmas.
1. FAMILY FIZZ
3. THE INGHAM FAMILY
4. ALISHA MARIE VLOGS
If you're looking for something to get your heart racing and challenge your mind, these video games might be the answer. Check out today's post about five of the best horror video games on the market today.
1: WHAT REMAINS OF EDITH FINCH
2: OUTLAST II
This game is the type of game that will leave you looking over your shoulder constantly. There aren’t creatures as much as there are back-woods hillbillies with dangerous beliefs that are looking to kill anyone who doesn’t measure up to their standards of belief.
3: THE EVIL WITHIN 2
4: UNTIL DAWN
5: BENDY AND THE INK MACHINE

Who doesn’t love a good party? Especially around such a fun holiday like Halloween. Today, I want to share with you all of the resources you need to throw the best Halloween party.
1: CHOOSE YOUR DATE, TIME, LOCATION AND THEME
As far as a theme, you could do anything from a costume party with a specific theme like Twilight or creepy monsters. After you choose this, make sure you note the information so you can follow the next step.
2: MAKE AND SEND YOUR INVITES
4: MAKE OR BUY SNACKS AND FOOD
One of the best things you can do is make some cute food or snacks for your party. I’ve done a number of these for Halloween in years past, and I may have more coming up. You can find them on my YouTube channel, but below I’ve linked one of my favorites!
5: PLAN THE ENTERTAINMENT
Additionally, there is nothing better than a few awesome Halloween party games or costume contests. Get some prizes and do monster trivia or murder mystery games like Clue.
6: HAVE A HOWLIN’ GOOD TIME
Unfortunately, COVID-19 has continued to be a problem, making this the second Halloween that has been impacted by the virus. I don't even know if anyone did "trick-or-treating" last year, or if it was even allowed by various cities. But, in case this is still the case or if you don't feel comfortable handing out candy or taking your kids out, here are a few ideas:
19. Play with makeup and create Halloween looks
20. Turn yourself into a toilet paper mummy
I love combining by love for the holidays with my love for all things creepy and bizarre. I couldn't help myself after I'd heard one of these particular theories. Let's dive in to today's post on three bizarre theories from "How the Grinch Stole Christmas."
1: WAS MAX THROWN IN THE TRASH?
If Max ended up on Mount Crumpit with the Grinch, there is a possibility that a Who child got bored of him and "Dumped Him to Crumpit." This theory also stems from the popular issue we have in the U.S. of people adopting or buying pets without being committed to caring for them only to give them away later.
2: WHERE IS THE BABY THAT GOT KNOCKED OFF COURSE AT THE BEGINNING?
So, it begs the question, is there a whole family of Grinch-like creatures somewhere else? Did the baby at the beginning go to the Grinch's family, did he end up with another family, or did he get stranded somewhere never to be found? There is so much left unanswered that this could be a whole separate movie!
3: ARE THE WHO'S CANNIBALS?
Don't get me started on how the little legs look like the shape of a Who with gloves on its hands. There are also clues like "Who Hash" which would cause someone to think that it is hash made from Who's. Then again, baby oil and baby powder isn't made out of babies...right?
"YOU'RE A MEAN ONE, MR. GRINCH"
"SIMPLY HAVING A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS TIME"
And, in case you didn't know, the song came before the movie. The first recording of the song with the extra voices came in 1942, and Crosby's solo came in 1947. The movie didn't premiere until 1954.
"ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YOU"
Michael Buble also recorded a cover of the song in the same year, which reached the top spot in the top hits of that year. Poor Mariah!
"I SAW MOMMY KISSING SANTA CLAUS"
dressed up as Santa and kissing the child's mother. They lifted their ban on the song following the meeting.
Halloween is right around the corner, so I figured it would be a great idea to cover some Halloween costumes I found on Pinterest that make me laugh or cringe. Let me know if you laughed or cringed for each of these in the comments.

If you're like me, you enjoy listening and learning about true crime cases on YouTube or through podcasts. Today, I figured I would share a few of my favorite true crime YouTubers and share their channels so you might check them out.
These are in no particular order, by the way!
Because I used official game covers and art from the game company: Copyright Disclaimer under section 107 of the Copyright Act of 1976, allowance is made for “fair use” for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, education and research.
I think the only horror-related thing I’ve never talked about here on the blog are horror games. I love them, and I absolutely love watching play-throughs of them, especially those done by some of the jumpier YouTubers.
So, I thought in this blog post I could talk about some of the games I and/or my husband have played that I would say are the best horror games out there.
1: LEFT 4 DEAD/LEFT 4 DEAD 2
2: BENDY AND THE INK MACHINE
3: THE EVIL WITHIN 2
4: THE WALKING DEAD
5: DYING LIGHT
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
