14 THINGS I LOVE ABOUT MY VALENTINE

1. HE'S PRETTY CUTE

No matter how much he denies it, he's a big cutie! I literally have never found myself so attracted to someone more than I am to my husband!

He's a cute person on the inside and out, and I love every second I get to spend with him!

2. HE LOVES THE LORD

One of the most beautiful things about my husband is his love for the Lord. I can't tell you how comforting it is to have my husband grab my hand and go to the Lord in prayer when I'm feeling anxious or scared, or when times are physically, emotionally, or mentally too much.

The Lord has been in our marriage from the start, and it is so important to me that we take time each week together to worship him!

3. HE MAKES ME LAUGH

I swear, a real quality a woman should look for in a man is humor. And I don't mean cheesy, though Jonathan has that covered too!

I mean real humor. A man who knows when to make you laugh, and when to hold you while you cry. Jonathan is that man, and I'm so thankful to have him and his humor in my life.

4. HE HAS A KIND HEART

Jonathan is one of the kindest people I've met in my life. He always wants to go the extra mile to help those in his life, sometimes to his detriment. But, it's that what life is all about for us? Helping others when they truly need the help?

I admire Jonathan's love for people and his desire to help those who need help. It is an amazing quality that not many truly possess.

5. HIS PASSION FOR WHAT HE LOVES

6. HE SPEAKS MY LOVE LANGUAGE

My love language is quality time. I've talked a lot about love languages in the past two weeks. While each of us may need a reminder from time to time, Jonathan is really good about make sure we spend time together.

One of our favorite things to do together is take Buzzfeed quizzes before bed, and play Trivia Crack, believe it or not.

We get a lot of laughs in, sometimes a little too many, which makes life fun and interesting each and every day.

7. HE SURPRISES ME

I will never forget a few Christmases ago when Jonathan surprised me with a love book. I was so shocked, I asked my mom if she gave him the idea, and she said she hadn't. I've never been surprised by something so sweet in my life!

8. HE IS GIVING

Along with his kind heart, he also has a giving heart. He wants give his time and energy to those who need it most.

At times, that's me. But we can talk about that later. Really, I'm just thankful that I was blessed with such a giving man who is willing to help others and me when we need it the most.

9. HIS BIG BROWN EYES

10. HOW HE DOES THINGS I WANT TO DO THAT HE DOESN'T LIKE, SOMETIMES

Jonathan really doesn't like pictures! He doesn't like standing in the rain. He doesn't particularly like watching scary movies. But he does it, most of the time without protest, because he knows it makes me happy!

It's important in every relationship to show interest and learn more about what your spouse loves to do. I love that about our relationship.

11. HE NEVER MAKES ME DOUBT

In any relationship, there has to be trust. Early in our relationship, we struggled with trust. Partially because I was scarred from other relationships where partners had lied to me, and partially because he was scared to disappoint me and the others in his life.

But never once have I doubted my husband's faithfulness to me. He makes me feel like the only woman in the world. Like no other person could grasp his attention the way I do. I truly never thought I'd get a relationship like that. But I know now that I have one.

12. HE HELPS ME WHEN I'M ANXIOUS

I have high-functioning anxiety and mild depression. Jonathan met me not long after I was diagnosed with it in college. He's sat with me through the worst hyperventilating episodes (which are thankfully few and far between), physical side effects associated with anxiety and depression, and much more.

His humor always gets me through my toughest days, and for that, I am nothing but thankful.

13. HE'S VERY KISSABLE!

14. HE WILL BE A GREAT FATHER ONE DAY

I hesitated using this photo, because Jonathan's father James passed earlier this year. But I saw the way James guided all of his boys. Through the six or so years I knew James, I started to see Jonathan's qualities in him and knew where they came from.

I know from James' example that Jonathan will be an amazing father when God blesses us (hopefully soon) with a family of our own.
